_About
The Colorado Asset Building Coalition (CABC) program was developed to encourage collaboration among Colorado organizations offering Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs and is dedicated to promoting awareness of the VITA and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), increasing VITA program capacity, efficiency and effectiveness, and ensuring access to VITA programs among all eligible Coloradoans. In Addition, CABC is charged with providing Tax Education, Financial Education and other Asset Building resources for the state of Colorado. The CABC currently consists of 28 member organizations who support and provide space, technology, and volunteer resources to 35 VITA sites across Colorado. In 2010, approximately 10,000 free tax returns were completed through CABC VITA sites (40% of total VITA returns filed in Colorado for that year), generating over $4.1 million through the EITC and over $2 million in Child Tax Credits. |
